Before NVIDIA’s actual announcement, rumors of the new “SUPER” series graphics cards have been heard all over the Internet. Now, NVIDIA finally confirmed the launch of the RTX SUPER series cards, after introducing the existing RTX-20 series cards in August 2018. It is believed that this mid-life refresh is the response to upcoming AMD’s Radeon RX 5700 series cards.

There are a total of three new cards, including the RTX 2060 SUPER, RTX 2070 SUPER and RTX 2080 SUPER. The latter two variants will directly replace the RTX 2070 and RTX 2080 in the product lineup. All cards still based on the same Turing micro-architecture, but the GPUs are in different versions with more CUDA cores, TMUs and ROPs. The base and boost frequencies are considerably higher as well. You can check out their detailed specifications in our GPU database.

According to NVIDIA, the RTX 2060 SUPER with 8 GB of GDDR6 memory will be 22% faster than the RTX 2060 and faster than the GTX 1080. The RTX 2070 SUPER will be 24% faster than the RTX 2070 and more powerful than the GTX 1080 Ti. The RTX 2080 SUPER will have upgraded memory speed at 15.5 Gbps, and can surpass the Titan Xp.

The Founders Edition of the RTX SUPER series cards will have the same dual-fan, aluminum enclosures. The RTX 2060 SUPER will be priced at $399 USD (MSRP), while RTX 2070 SUPER at $499 USD (MSRP). Both will be available for purchase on 9th July. The RTX 2080 SUPER costs $699 USD (MSRP) and will be out on 23rd July.
