Patriot Memory releases the new VP4100 NVMe SSD under its VIPER Gaming brand. It joins other manufacturers to use the PCIe 4.0 interface for much better performance. If you are currently using the latest 3rd Generation Ryzen platform from AMD, you may want to keep an eye on this SSD.
Similar to offerings from Corsair and GIGABYTE, the VP4100 is also equipped with the Phison PS5016-E16 memory controller. With the PCIe 4.0×4 interface, the SSD can reach sequential read/write speeds of 5000 MB/s and 4400 MB/s. Up to 800,000 IOPS can be achieved in 4K random operations.
The VP4100 comes with two capacities, 1 TB and 2 TB. They have rated endurance of about 1800 TBW and 3600 TBW respectively. Both models comes with a low-profile heatsink to cool the onboard components.
The VIPER VP4100 SSD will be available soon on various resellers. The 1 TB model is priced at $229.99 USD (MSRP), while 2 TB at $429.99 USD (MSRP).
